Some Serious Stuff
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: G.E.M.

Hello! Welcome back to Interesting News! There's actually some pretty serious stuff going on today hence the title.

The first story I have for everyone today is about a village in Brazil that has been having its food supply, mainly fish, fall by the waysides.  The cause is long story short global warming.  That area has been getting hotter and hotter.  The village chief made a statement about it saying people could fish without getting a single bite and swim in water that used to be filled with pirannahs. Personally I felt it was a shame, but I mean global warming isn't going to be fixed anytime soon, so I hope people reading this can send them some prayers.  Full here.

The next story for today is about Hilary herself. That's right. Hilary Clinton. I'm not much one to keep up with politics but I liked Bill and Hilary. [Albeit Hilary's presedential campaigning, I thought, was a bit weak.] She's fully recovered from an elbow injury and out on the road metaphorically. She's been making lots of trips around Asia showing her diplomatic abilities. Among many of the political issues she described such as the nuclear links [not sure what the author meant by this] between North Korea and Myanmar. Basically what happened was she commented on it saying that the U.S. might fuck up anyone who messed with the Middle East...perhaps. Either way that's a pretty gutsy thing to say in politics especially when you're secretary of state. The article proposed though that over in India, she had different types of problems with the public. More about her personal life than anything after her scandal with Bill and all. In any case, the part I found most interesting about this article was when she discussed how Obama won her over to take the position. Full here

Up next is a story about the sport of swimming! Just keep swimming just keep swimming. In all seriousness though, it's pretty interesting. Supposedly since 2000 there's been an increase in "technology" in the sport. First time I read that, I thought about waterproof equipment and crap. After reading a bit further and realizing most of the competitors used to only wear speedos, the so-called "technology" mentioned was in fact the swim wear. The material and crap was being designed to enhance buoyancy and reduce resistance among other things. Even THE BEAST, Michael Phelps, approved of the decision. I recommend skimming through the full article if for nothing other than the picture of what one Spaniard wore to one of the competitions. Full Here

Cali. My favorite state is cutting down budgets left and right. $26 Billion to be precise. It's pretty crazy actually. I feel bad for the schools cause they're taking a pretty big hit. But they were pretty fair across the board cutting a bit here and there from everywhere. This isn't really all that interesting, just a kind of this is what the States have come to thing. [Plus it's my favorite state.] Full Here

If there are 26.4 Million Iphones out there and adding in IPod touches total 45 Million. What is the number of IPod Touches? That's wrong! No, you probably got it right or were too lazy to do the math. The total is 18.6 Million. Yeah that's a lot of tech out there. The U.S. has around 62% of those in the world. The U.K. falling in second with a whopping 8.3%. Yeah big difference. Apple really pushed those things down our throats don't you think. What with all the ads and stuff. This makes me proud to say that I have never bought a single Apple product. And yes that makes me feel special and like a douche at the same time. Thank you very much. Full Here

This was just a hilarious story that I couldn't pass up. This guy in Romania goes into a hospital and has to get surgery. Nothing really out of the ordinary. The difference is that he's going in cause he has two hammer heads up his ass. He claimed that he was constipated and tried to fix his constipation with a hammerhead. When he put he lost the first one, he tried to get it out with a second. Dumbass person is dumbass, yes? Well here's the full article with an x-ray to boot. Full LOL here
